Holiday Hosting with MGBW

Honestly, I’ve been dreaming of having the space to entertain and host dinner parties at our place for such a long time…dare I say ever since I was a kid? I’d watch Friends, wanting to be Monica — the effortless host who’s home was the unspoken default as a place for friends to gather, relax, and make memories. So now that I’m in a house of our own for the first holiday season, I’m a bit giddy to finally fulfill this vision of hosting friends and family time and time again around our table!

Getting your dinner party to sparkle in all the right ways is all about having the right foundational pieces on hand…once you have that, throwing together a special gathering — even at the last moment — is surprisingly easy and fun.

Knowing we’ll be playing hosts for a few fall and winter gatherings made this the perfect time to stock up on entertaining essentials, like plenty of beautiful bar- and tableware, that I can reach for time and time again to create that special, elevated ambiance at a moment’s notice.

I’m currently obsessed with the jade marble pieces at Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams — the coloring is so rich and interesting, and although marble has been “trending” for many years of late, the emerald green variation feels fresh and extra special. 

Barware, if you haven’t picked up over the years, is a little weakness of mine that I like to collect, and I find layering options on the table completely luxuriates that at-home dinner or tapas. Add a smattering of flowers and candles down the table, and you’ve instantly got a most memorable scene. Just pop on a good playlist, welcome your friends in, and get ready for a good time 🙂
