Holiday Decor Guide

Holiday Decor Guide | Millay Blog

Happy holiday season, everyone!

We’ve reached the time of year that enters warp-speed, where the days feel short, and the gift list gets long. But I think a great way to fight off the stress of the holidays are to lean in and create an oasis at home that pauses to actually celebrate it, to bask in the coziness, the rich scents, and the community in it all.

This is frankly new to me, because I am usually a bit of a grinch and never decorate our home for the holidays. But this year, I decided to take the advice above, and I’m proud to say we actually went out and got a Christmas tree, have fir-infused candles burning, and a boxwood garland adorning the fireplace mantle.

While I know not everyone celebrates Christmas, so I put together all the little things that can go a long way for any winter holiday at home, with plush, soft, insulating layers, a bit of bringing the outdoor in, and small ways to make the home feel festive. Here are my picks!

(And pssst: a lot of them are currently on sale!)

  1. Tartan Pillows from Room and Board | I’ve wanted these since last year…they are a limited series they pull out each holiday season and look even better in person. All my living room throw pillows are from Room and Board, and the fill is a perfect down fill that are super luxe yet hold there shape so well when fluffed!
  2. Shiny Brite Ornaments from West Elm (I just ordered these)
  3. Renee Cozy Throw Blanket from Wayfair
  4. Fir & Firewood Candle from Anthropologie | I bought them in this votive pack: I seriously burn this every day now and I love walking into my home with it smelling like this, or having this scent wrap around me as I get ready!
  5. Metallic Ornament Set from CB2
  6. Brass Rack Stocking Holder from Wayfair
  7. Cream Knit Stockings from Wayfair
  8. Brass and Alabaster Menorah / Candle Holders from CB2
  9. Preserved Boxwood Garland and Wreaths from Garnet Hill | I went with the garland for our fireplace mantle and I absolutely love it. There is a minimal, nordic feel to it stylistically, it adds nice greenery, but doesn’t shed and make a mess. Can’t recommend this enough!
  10. White Poinsettia Stem from Wayfair
  11. Cym Warkov White Vase and Black Vase from Hoppe Shoppe

I’ve got a little gift guide coming soon as well, but in the meantime, I’ll continue to round up my holiday favorites over here in my shop for any of you interested!

Much love, and happy holiday season to all!
