All Aglow: My Favorite Candles

A few weeks into quarantining, and I’ve become all the more appreciative of the little indulgences at home that make this time indoors feel serene and welcoming instead of stuffy and monotonous.

Fresh blooms and lit candles always elevate the everyday for me, and I wanted to share some of my ultimate favorites! Bonus: many of these are made by small makers, so it is a great way to continue to shop small.

I love reusing candleholders to hold qtips, pens, small flower arrangements, or as whiskey glasses! And a couple key tips to getting the most out of your candles:

• Let it burn until a full layer of wax has melted all the way to the edge the first time you burn it so that it doesn’t decrease the diameter of it’s burn funnel each time you burn it after.
• Use a wick cutter to trim the wick down short before each burn to reduce the amount of smoke the flame creates (here is the one I have!)

A few other personal favorites that I am burning right now are this santal scent and this amber + oak moss scent (both soy wax candles).  For a more floral scent, I love this one.

I also usually keep a small stock of scentless taper and pillar candles on hand to keep the ambiance going in different spots.
